For Laurence de Crisnay, tasty and healthy food is part of the enjoyment of life. Browsing Farmer’s markets looking for tasty seasonal ingredients, searching for mouth watering recipes, and growing colorful vegetables are all part of the fun.
Recently settled in California with her family, Laurence, a former executive in the Beauty and Fashion world decided it was time to give a new twist to her life.
She rebuilt her food « vocabulary » with local ingredients and started baking intensively with her two daughters, enjoying together the pleasure of starting a cake from scratch, watching it develop in the oven, and spread its tantalizing scents in the kitchen.
Naturally, the idea of sharing with her Californian friends her hand-made quality French pastries made its way. Driven by her new passion, she taught herself the subtleties and techniques of French traditional baking.
In between baking batches, Laurence created L.A Gourmande, to introduce Angeleno « gourmands » her selection of beloved French cakes.
L.A Gourmande now offers the cutest madeleines and the most refined financiers, carefully crafted with the finest local ingredients, in a wide array of delicate flavors.
